Welcome to Milton

Unmatched quality of life worlds away from big-city bustle

On the northern edge of urban Atlanta and the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Milton offers an unparalleled lifestyle not found anywhere else in the country. The highest quality of life in the state of Georgia and ninth-best in the nation is home to working horse farms and vast estates sheltered beneath an awning of tall trees on rolling green hillsides. Wide-open spaces, great schools, and tranquil peace combine to undoubtedly make Milton one of Georgia’s best communities to call home.

While the region possesses a rich history, Milton is very new and was not officially incorporated until 2006. Known for its evolving downtown district and equestrian lifestyle, residents enjoy some of the most valuable real estate in Georgia located within well-maintained neighborhoods and a balance of rural and urban life. Horseback riding through lush, green pastures is enjoyed without sacrificing access to fine dining, snazzy boutiques and modern luxuries of urban life.

Local Lifestyle

Milton is appealing to those looking for a peaceful, country lifestyle without having to sacrifice modern conveniences and amenities. The vibrant Crabapple district is home to boutiques, dining, spas, salons, and townhouses, walking distance from all of these attractions. A few minutes away, working farms offer tranquility just 30 miles north of a bustling city that feels like a rural retreat.

Today, Wills Park Equestrian Center hosts dozens of equestrian shows every year, with this traditional pastime remaining a regular part of life today. All these aspects considered, it seems this community has found the perfect balance between traditional southern charm and modern affluence.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Vibrant cuisine with southern roots and rustic shopping marketplaces are just some of the gems awaiting in Milton. A growing downtown will bring a fun work-play-live atmosphere to one of the fastest-expanding communities in Georgia.

Located in a 150-year-old farmhouse, Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails serves a locally inspired menu in the cozy company of roaring fireplaces. Southern-style fried chicken, sweet potato shrimp fritters, deviled eggs and a traditional brunch menu have made this an essential restaurant for Milton locals.

Genuine, simple cuisine is the specialty of 7 Acre Bar N Grill. First the site of a general store, 7 Acre boasts a full bar with over 75 whiskeys from all over the world, homemade desserts, and true farm-to-table cuisine. Hot chicken sandwiches, roasted Brussel sprouts, crab cakes, and craft burgers are a few of the simple comforts which have earned 7 Acre a loyal following over the years.

A vibrant, unpretentious spot known for local beer, craft cocktails, and modern spins on southern cuisine is found at The Union. A varied menu features steak frites, elevated burgers, and goat cheese ravioli.

Fine furnishings for the home, decorative trinkets, and gifts for any occasion are waiting to be found at The Exchange Interior Market. A collective offering of several regional businesses sells the finest rugs, bedding, furniture, artisan food items and more.

Market District Crabapple is a growing collection of luxurious residences, upscale dining and shops, and a highly walkable addition to an ever-evolving downtown community. With more growth expected in years to come, the live-work-play concept will grow into the definite core of an already-vibrant neighborhood.

Things To Do

With an abundance of ways to explore, time spent in the great outdoors is important to Milton residents. Crabapple Fest, taking place each autumn, is one opportunity to do this. On Crabapple Road, the street is transformed into a lively market featuring over 100 different vendors and their antiques, arts, crafts, and more. Football on the big screen, face painting, rides and other activities for the whole family create memories to last a lifetime.

On a more regular basis, the Milton Farmers’ Market takes place each Wednesday. Locals can wander the streets of downtown Milton and select from a wide array of fresh produce, coffee, honey, cookies and more. A bit removed from the center of town, Scottsdale Farms is an expansive garden facility and marketplace spanning across 65 acres offering plants, home decor, gourmet food items and The Café, serving breakfast, lunch, fresh-baked pastries and hot coffee to its patrons.

Schools

Milton is home to some of the best-performing schools in the region. One great local option is:

  • Mill Springs Academy, kindergarten-12th grade; an 85-acre campus enjoys a low student-teacher ratio and great college preparatory programs, with most graduates going on to pursue a college degree.
